August 24, 2014, the Australian wombat named Patrick celebrated its 29th anniversary with all the accompanying attributes of this holiday. For us, 29 years is not so much, but for a wombat is already in permanent retirement.
Since 1986, Patrick lives in the same place - «Ballarat Wildlife Park», in the Australian state of Victoria. Since the settlement, wombat became the object of attention of employees and visitors to the zoo. And so it goes so far. The average life expectancy is 15-20 years old wombat. Patrick is the oldest of the wombat now living. To a record 34 years, and it is so much lived another champion, Patrick left for another five years.
