A couple of years ago we developed a design concept unique cup that rotates around its own axis, can stir the drink without a spoon and uplifting. We have come a long way from the first test to participation and victories in international competitions and exhibitions. The birth of ideas h4> It all started back in 2009, when Anastasia, as a student of the South Federal University, an intern in London. There, she was faced with the fact that in the cafe periodically absent normal teaspoons and sometimes sticks. So stir coffee or tea with sugar was very problematic. And then, trying to rotate the glass by hand, she thought - why not create a dish that does not require a spoon to stir the contents? So was born the idea of ​​Cups-Yula.

In early 2012, to meet me, Anastasia remembered his old idea, and together we took up its implementation. The main condition was the absence of complex mechanisms, motors, batteries, etc. This cup should be made entirely of glass or porcelain, and be at home for at least comfortable and unpretentious than the usual utensils.

Work on the concept h4> The first sketches that Nastya showed me looked like a child's toy of the same name. The cup was to take the form of july special and close lid equipped with a handle for rotation. It became absolutely clear - in this way the product is unlikely anyone will be interested. And we began to refine the shape, bringing it closer to the traditional tea pair.

At first glance, it seemed to me that the problem simply impossible - or a cup will be difficult to use and it is not aesthetically pleasing, or drink will spill, and a cup of regular breaks. But still we managed to find a balance and solve all the problems.

First of all, to achieve the WOW-effect cup should rotate around its axis independently after the push arm (due to inertia forces). For the stability and security of the design, it was decided to make it into two parts - the most cups and saucers, coasters. Saucer provided with a special projection - axis of rotation, which is set cup recess.

This allowed the lower the center of gravity of the cup and prevent it from accidentally tipping over. In addition, for added stability and protection against splashes, we gave the cup pear shape.

Next we come to the conclusion that for a quality drink mixing cup should have internal ribs that will podtseplyat and spinning liquid. And then I had an idea to tilt to the side edges of rotation (clockwise). This will send the fluid flows down and thus prevent splashing.

At the meeting in April this year, the Milan week of design, specially for which we printed the final prototype, the cup-Yul made a splash! It was nice to watch the admiring glances of people, some of whom were returning to our booth and bring your friends and children.

Running production h4> Along with patenting a long time we were trying to find a manufacturer for the production of glass cups. But unfortunately, it was found that the casting mold used in the conventional production and consist of two halves which, because of the inclined edges of the cup, it will be impossible to reveal no damage to the product. And the creation of a separate processing line can be quite costly exercise.

At the moment, we decided not to wait and begin production of high quality porcelain cups, which of course is not transparent, but has a number of advantages over glass: the possibility of any color glaze, applying logos and pictures, and, of course, have a lower cost of porcelain production .

In the first step we decided to use Russian Crowdfunding and later plan to enter the foreign market and, since it reacts violently to novelty.
