At the end XIXveka Kiev is booming and there was a need in the regular public transport. In Kiev were tram, but due to the terrain, lots of ups and downs, they do not always cope with the task. June 14, 1892 in Kiev, opened the first polutorakolimetrovaya tram line on the Alexander descent. The idea belonged to the engineer Amanda Struve. Over time, the length of the route electric tram was already 50 km.
