Dyson Halo - smart glasses for 10 years before Google Glass

For its 21 th anniversary of the company Dyson has disclosed some details of its pending developments, among which there was also an analogue of Google Glass. Dyson Halo till today were known only to the extension of the project №66. The project was developed in 2001 and was a glasses-enabled full-color 3D display, supplementing the real picture, which now operate Google, Epson and Vuzix < / a>.



Points were attached to a circular frame, framing the head behind the head, and supported handhelds that resembled Sony Walkman.



Halo worked as a communication device, but also can display the information on a virtual screen using voice or visual commands. Points Halo could also be used as a normal display for the outside of the computer. The headset uses two mirrors to reflect the image of the eye with two tiny monitors installed at the temples owners, creating the illusion of a translucent 10-inch screen, the projected 1 meter in front of the eyes.

In Dyson also developed a virtual assistant who can handle basic voice commands, such as early versions of Apple's Siri or Google Now, and for example, help the owner headset read emails. More users can print to a projected virtual keyboard that can track finger movements, while a special wrist device acted as a mouse pointer.
