Protests in Minsk

Belarusian opposition in protest against the results of the presidential elections on December 19, thousands of people gathered
on October Square in central Minsk. From there, the crowd moved to the Independence Square,
which made several attempts to storm the government building. Protesters smashed windows and glass doors
buildings and entered into a confrontation with the police arrived at the scene. OMON managed to clean the area from the opposition.
Detained, according to one estimate, up to 500 people, among which there are five presidential candidates.
