Female Carnival in Cologne.

This carnival in Cologne called "fifth season". Each year, six weeks before Easter, hundreds of women in carnival costumes take to the streets of the city, passing by cutting all ties oncoming men protest against the omnipotence of men.

This custom originated in 1823 when a group of women who worked in the laundry, rebelled against their husbands, leaving them to work and gone to drink beer in the nearest pub, writes AFP.

Since then - the custom of eating habit - a woman on the day of the carnival wear their costumes in the morning and go in a "discharged" as a whole day. Employers allow them to appear in the carnival costumes in the office.

In the evening all the streets - to spoil the fun and good as a lot of nice ties. However, the men in almost two centuries have managed to adapt to the tradition and really expensive ties in the day of the carnival do not wear.
