Roger (Roger Ballen) was born in 1950 in New York and with twenty years of living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Starting with documentary photographs of rural life, the beginning of the twenty-first century, he created his own unique style, in which the game of people, animals and inanimate objects creates a frightening, sometimes surreal mystical atmosphere.
