The station is studying the ionosphere, Serpents, near Kharkov in the 80 near Kharkov functioned ionospheric research station, which is a direct analogue of the American HAARP project in Alaska. The complex area of a football field consisted of multiple antennas, the largest of which had a size of 25 meters in diameter and was able to radiate power of about 25 megawatts (HAARP similar equipment to broadcast 12, 5 MW). The station was recently declassified.
