Russian Defence Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu opened sculptural composition, inspired by the feature film "Officers". The ceremony was held near the building of the Defense Ministry on Frunze Embankment in Moscow.

"Today we, together with the whole country celebrate the Day of the Heroes of the Fatherland. On this day people celebrate the Heroes of the Soviet Union, full gentlemen of the Order of Glory. And of course, we could not get around that day our history, which is directly connected with these wonderful people, "- said Shoigu.

According to the minister, for the life of many generations of military officers began with this film. "Our generation is grateful Vasily Lanovoi, Yumatova Georgi, Alina Intercession of the images that are transmitted to us from the ancient generations, the heroes of bygone days", - said the head of the military department.



He also thanked the War Artists Studio Grekov for successful realization of the idea of ​​sculpture. The composition plays in bronze from the film scene: the meeting after a long separation, two comrades - Alexei Trofimov and Ivan Barabbas and wife Trofimova - Lyubov and grandson Ivan.

The opening ceremony of the monument was attended by administrative board of the Ministry of Defense, People's Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoi, People's Artist of the RSFSR Alina Pokrovskaya.
