Heath Ledger. Why so serious?

Heathcliff Andrew Ledger was born in Perth, Western Australia. Going to school Heath began to show interest in the theater and for the sport - and in both areas has been successful, he has received several awards as an actor and as a member of the hockey team.





His first notable role, he received in 1996 in the Australian television show «Sweat». In 1997, the first debut of Heath in the movie. He played a role in the Australian youth drama «Blackrock». The work of the young actor gets good reviews and in the same year, Heath starred in several television series. Through these roles, it becomes quite a well-known actor in Australia. Soon Heath was invited to the role of the Celtic warrior in the series «Roar» film company Fox. The next film, the black comedy "Fingers fan", despite the fact that the film was not as popular as expected, Heath immediately gets a new role in the youth film "10 Things I Hate". World fame as a young actor received in 2000 for his role as the son of the hero-rebel, played by his eminent compatriot Mel Gibson in the movie "Patriot". After that, Ledger became one of the leading young actors in Hollywood.

After the success of "The Patriot" Heath was invited, but this time for the lead role in another historical tape "A Knight's Tale", which was well received by the audience and gathered a good cashier. Then there were the films "The Brothers Grimm" (2005), "Casanova" (2005) and many others. For his role in the film "Brokeback Mountain" (2005) Heath Ledger was nominated for an Academy Award "Oscar».

The last film credits Heath Ledger was the role of the Joker in "The Dark Knight" (2008) - another film adaptation of Batman adventures. The picture was released after the death of the actor.

January 22, 2008 at 15:31 Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment in Manhattan. An autopsy could not establish the exact cause of death, therefore, was required to conduct additional toxicological examination, the results of which has been declared the official cause of Ledger's death - acute intoxication due to the combined action of analgesics (including opioids), sleeping pills and tranquilizers (oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxilamine).
The body of the actor was sent to Australia. February 9th, 2008, he was cremated and buried at home in Perth on Karrakatta Cemetery.

In 2009, it awarded the "Golden Globe" as best supporting actor for his role in the film "The Dark Knight" (2008).

The second actor in history (after Peter Finch), was awarded the "Oscar" posthumously.
