However, as time went on, and after numerous upgrades became clear that the basic model LuAZ-969 become obsolete in the eyes, even though started in 1983 exports. To develop a new car Minavtoselzozmash (Minavtoprom former) Soviet Union announces a competition for the creation of a new SUV between Leningrad laboratory prototyping us and Design Bureau of the plant. As a result of this "confrontation" between the two creative teams and appeared hero of today's story - LuAZ Proto.



The prototype shown in the photos, was introduced in 1989, when experts Lutsk plant worked on his prototype LuAZ 1301 for as much as five years. However, the work that led the chief designer of laboratory Gennady Hain was completed on time and was performed at a very high level, and at that time embodied the latest achievements of world design.
