Topiarnogo art

Topiarnogo art or the art of topiary trees and shrubs is one of the most interesting areas of landscape architecture.





Topiarnogo art is considered one of the oldest forms of art. The first written mention of the ornamental horticulture and date back to the Romans belong to 38g. BC and 14g. n. e. Pliny the Elder attributed the discovery Kneyu Matiyu, a friend of the Emperor Augustus. Perhaps the art of cutting trees and shrubs was brought earlier from the Mediterranean and Asia. Whatever the beginning of the end of the first century BC, topiary gardens becomes a natural decoration of wealthy people.



During the Renaissance gives a new impetus to the development topiarnogo art. Appeal to the classics, the search of style and forms of its realization spawned gardens that still exist: Gardens of Villa Lante (Banayya); Castello Baldini (Montalto di Pavia) and Villa Gartsoni about Collodi in Tuscany.

But fashion tends to change, not even fashion - there are always opponents who want to change the course of events. This time, the opposition made poets and philosophers, who spoke for "Non-violence over the trees and shrubs." The result of these attacks and disputes brought the beginning of the end of the "Dutch style" and the flourishing of natural beauty. Many well-known regular gardens were destroyed and turned into a landscape.



Today topiarnogo art is going through another stage of its development, and classical topiary, apparently from for fast results, the transition to the use of annual flowers and vines on the frame basis. The pace of life makes adjust by itself an art that requires patience.
