In several places, the islands of Malta and Gozo can be found a complex network of ruts carved in rock. They dated about 2000 BC. History of origin is not known. There is a theory that it was the traces of carts, which transported construction materials. Other scientists believe that this marks the irrigation channels that were used in agriculture .
