Конкурс World Press Photo проводится в Амстердаме ежегодно с 1955 года. На этот раз на него было направлено рекордное число работ фотожурналистов: 5019. В конкурсе приняли участие фотомастера из 125 стран мира. Призы присваивались по десяти категориям. Их вручение состоится 27 апреля в Амстердаме. Победитель Тим Хетерингтон получит 10 тысяч евро и новую фотокамеру.
